Bardonia, New York is a census designated place and hamlet located in the town of Clarkstown. This Rockland County community has about 4,100 residents and is located near Nanuet, New City, and Valley Cottage. The community was named for the Bardon Brothers, who came to the area in 1849 from Bavaria and ran several businesses here. Bardonia is served by the Clarkstown Central School District, and while there is an elementary located in the hamlet, secondary students will finish their education in nearby West Nyack at Clarkstown South High School.
