About Stony Point, NY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Stony Point is a town located in Rockland County, New York, and it is part of the New York City Metro Area. As of 2010, about 15,100 people called this community home. Stony Point served an important role in the American Revolution, as the King’s Ferry was used many times by the Continental Army led by George Washington. The Stony Point Battlefield is also located just north of the community, and it was the site of the 1779 Battle of Stony Point. Today, the area is served by the North Rockland Central School District, and it is the most rural of the five towns located in Rockland County.

Stony Point is home to several interesting attractions and areas of interest. The Stony Point Battlefield Lighthouse is a popular walking and bike riding destination, and other outdoor recreational opportunities are available at Harriman State Park and Iona Island and Marsh. Golf fans might enjoy booking a tee time at Patriot Hills Golf Club, which has been ranked as one of the best public courses in the state by Golf Magazine. Other landmarks and areas of interest include Gilmor Sloane House and the William H. Rose House.

The location of Stony Point in inland New York puts this community within a humid continental climate zone, meaning residents will enjoy four distinct seasons. Winters are snowy and cold, and severe storms are possibilities. When coupled with frigid and freezing temperatures, residents will need a way to remain safe, and an energy-efficient furnace or heat pump is the answer. Likewise, conditions can be dangerous during the summer months for other reasons, as excessive humidity combined with high temperatures can make the possibility of heat-related illnesses a reality. Most residents invest in central air conditioning units to stay comfortable when the hottest weather conditions strike.
