About Tomkins Cove , NY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Rockland County’s Town of Stony Point, Tomkins Cove is a small hamlet with only about 1,750 residents. It is located northwest of New York City and consists of about eight square miles of total area. There are several notable areas located within Tomkins Cove, including Rising Hills Estates and the private community of Tomkins Lake Colony. Much of the community is situated against Bear Mountain State Park, and as one of the more rural Rockland County community, Tomkins Cove is proud to be located along the Appalachian Trail.

As a small community, there aren’t many notable attractions located here, but there are some local businesses. There are a few popular restaurants located in Tomkins Cove, including Cove Deli, Sheerans Restaurant & Pub, and Café 1915, and the Brookside Garden Center offers a variety of plants and flowers. There are several golf courses located in the region, including Philip J. Rotella Memorial Golf Course in Thielis and Patriot Hills Golf Course in Stony Point. The numerous outdoor recreational opportunities available at Bear Mountain State Park are also located only a short drive away.

The climate of Tomkins Cove is typical of a humid continental zone. The winters here are snowy and cold, with annual snow accumulation reaching about 45 inches per season on average. Severe snowstorms or even blizzards are possibilities, and the harshest of conditions could make driving conditions hazardous. When residents are stuck indoors during these months, it is crucial that they have a high-functioning furnace at home to rely upon.

Summers in the community are hot in terms of thermostat readings, and high humidity levels can make it feel even warmer. Most residents will use their air conditioning units throughout this period to stay comfortable. Not only will an energy-efficient air conditioning unit keep interiors comfortable, but they can also serve as a Godsend for people who suffer from seasonal allergies by improving the quality of indoor air.
